Ruby Group is introducing a 35-hour working week for all employees of its hotels, workspaces and reservations team, without any adjustment in salaries. All employees within the group will additionally receive revenue sharing from 2023.
Back in June, the Munich-based hotel group launched a special recruitment campaign where new employees could be reimbursed for a new tattoo, piercing or hairdo after six months of employment. The campaign was a great success and Ruby saw a 25 per cent increase in applications from potential new employees. With the introduction of the 35-hour working week for the same salary, Ruby is taking another exciting step forward in its recruitment process. A step that is once again unique within the hotel industry.
Of course, the new measure is also aimed at current and highly valued employees. "To be attractive as an employer in today's society, modern constructions around working hours are important. We want to offer our employees more flexibility and time off, for the same amount of money" says Uta Scheurer, Vice President Human Resources at Ruby.
Further, Ruby will start sharing profits with employees from 2023. "We are turning our employees into co-entrepreneurs by sharing profits with them. Our employees identify strongly with Ruby. We want to make this identification and commitment stronger and invest in the relationship with our employees" explains Michael Struck, Ruby's founder and CEO.
