The Ruby Group announces a new Lean Luxury hotel in Geneva, developed in partnership with PSP Swiss Property, one of Switzerland's leading real estate companies. This makes the project the group's second hotel in Geneva, its third hotel in Switzerland and its 34th hotel in total.
The Ruby Group continues to grow in Switzerland and announces plans for a second hotel in Geneva. The new hotel will have 124 rooms with public areas on the ground floor, and is being developed in collaboration with long-standing partner PSP Swiss Property. The site offers a total gross lettable area of 4,150 sq m of former office space and perfectly aligns with the group's focus: high-end hotel conversions in prime city locations.
The hotel comes to Rue de Hesse 18, 1204 Geneva: a landmark former bank building in the heart of Geneva's financial district. Just a few minutes' walk from the Rhône River and Ruby Claire Hotel & Bar, the property is on the border of the historic Quartier des Banques and the creative hotspot Les Bains, widely recognised as the cosmopolitan heart of Geneva and the place to be. The property has excellent public transport links, with major tram and bus stations just around the corner. Geneva airport is just 15 minutes away.
As part of The Ruby Group's strategic growth plan, this hotel is one of several high-profile urban transformation projects currently underway across Europe. Known for redeveloping complex buildings with character and history, The Ruby Group knows how to transform architectural heritage into contemporary Lean Luxury experiences.
(Mr) Julian Mörs, Senior Director Development at the Ruby Group, responds: "This project reflects well what Ruby stands for - thoughtfully designed spaces, smart and efficient use of existing architecture, and the ability to create atmospheric hotels in prime city locations. Thanks to our lean, centralised structure and deep development expertise, we are able to transform even complex landmark properties into future-proof hotels. We are proud to continue our partnership with PSP Swiss Property and excited to open another Ruby hotel in Geneva."
(Mrs) Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, adds: "We are excited to announce Ruby Hotels' newest addition to Geneva, a city celebrated for its rich culture and international status. Located in the heart of the vibrant financial district and close to Geneva's most iconic attractions, this hotel will be the perfect base for modern lifestyle travellers looking for charming and authentic experiences. We look forward to working with The Ruby Group and PSP Swiss Property to bring this hotel to life."
(Mr) Peter Cloet, Director, Asset Manager, PSP Swiss Property Geneva, said: "We are delighted to build on our partnership with The Ruby Group to transform this historic building in Geneva's banking district into a vibrant destination. The opening of a new Ruby Hotel will not only transform the building, but also contribute to the development of the entire banking district." The Ruby Group continues to roll out its Lean Luxury philosophy in Europe's most iconic cities. The new hotel in Geneva is therefore part of a development portfolio that includes projects in Berlin, Copenhagen, Rotterdam and Stockholm, among others. The hotel is scheduled to open in Q3 2028.
