Both spring and summer are great periods to host guests. It is generally a time when the sun shines a little more often. This makes people get excited and want to get out and about. More and more Dutch people now choose to spend a long weekend or holiday in their own country. Neighbouring countries, too, increasingly appreciate the Netherlands.
1. Promote the stay online. Consider a website or blog that lists all the information about the B&B. Along with photos, videos and reviews. Also promote the accommodation through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and even TikTok to reach other audiences. Of course, it is hugely important to index the location on search engines like Google and Bing so that the destination can be easily found
2. List accommodation on travel websites. There are many websites where you can list with your location. Well-known, Booking.com, Expedia and TripAdvisor, in addition, there are relatively many unknown travel websites that are attracting more and more visitors because many people enjoy searching outside traditional websites for a "unique" destination. These so-called travel websites provide a platform on which the hotel or B&B is promoted.
3. Take advantage of local events. If events such as festivals, concerts or sporting events are taking place in the area, you may choose to promote the accommodation in the process. Team up with the organisers or use flyers. You can also set up a stall at the venue of the event so that people can be helped with food and drinks from there or possibly make reservations for the same evening.
4. Come up with a fun promotion or offer. By making special offers for people who are members of a certain group or meet a desired profile, you can influence who you receive as guests. By properly researching these profiles, you can also think of ways to respond to guests' needs with fun extras at the venue.
5. Upselling is a great way to earn more money but also to offer guests some extras that make the visit attractive. For example, you can offer extra services, such as renting out bicycles, renting out a boat, organising activities and offering meals. Also consider extra services, such as cleaning services, laundry service, transport and excursions. All these tips can help you attract more guests and make more money.
