De impact van taalkracht op gelukshormonen: een voorsprong in de krappe arbeidsmarkt

The impact of language power on happiness hormones: an edge in the tight labour market

Hospitality Trainer Tanja Schilthuizen makes her theory public after 20 years

At a time when the job market is still under pressure, Tanja Schilthuizen presents her methodology on the impact of language power on happiness hormones and their essential role in improving guest experience and personal work happiness. The renowned Hospitality Trainer and speaker, whose agenda has been fully booked a year in advance for years, will share her innovative theory after 20 years of experience and research in an upcoming masterclass on 21 March at the AFAS Theatre in Leusden.

Using the right choice of words to activate happiness hormones

Due to the many requests Tanja Schilthuizen receives throughout the year, the concept was born to offer open training courses and master classes to reach a wider audience. In Schilthuizen's master class, awarded the title 'Top 15 Best Hospitality Trainers International', service industry professionals, executives and other interested parties will have the chance to explore the power of language and the neurochemical aspects of happiness. It will highlight how the right words activate a mix of happiness hormones and how executives can harness them to meet the ongoing challenges of the tight labour market.

From trainee to director to renowned Hospitality Trainer

After starting as an intern with Joop Braakhekke at the Cherry Garden in Amsterdam, Tanja Schilthuizen climbed to General Manager at Bilderberg in ten years. When she became a mother, she wanted to spend more time with her family. So she accepted the offer to teach training courses part-time, not knowing that this adventure would eventually become her calling. Tanja Schilthuizen now has more than 20 years of experience as a Hospitality Trainer and speaker, and was awarded the title 'Top 15 Best Hospitality Trainers International' in 2022. With leading clients such as Bijenkorf, Holland Casino, Hotel Okura Amsterdam, Shell, KLM and Emma Children's Hospital, she is known as the only Hospitality Trainer in the Netherlands who focuses entirely on the power of language and its link to neurochemistry.

HEP theory

Tanja has distinguished herself in the field of hospitality training by developing the innovative HEP theory. A unique language model which forms the basis of her training courses and master classes with the ultimate goal of creating a 9+ guest experience, job happiness and employee loyalty in the tight labour market. The HEP theory, based on Courtesy, Emotion and Proactivity, forms the core of distinctive communication for all conversations in the guest journey with customers and employees. Applying this theory activates happiness hormones in the brain and contributes to commercial success, loyalty, image and job happiness, among other things.

The success of this method is evidenced by the rave reviews from its customers. For example, the Head of Foodservice at Shell Benelux & France wrote: "Tanja has the ultimate recipe for successfully integrating a strong hospitality experience as the basis for the 9+ organisation."
