New Horeca collective agreement 2024 is a fact

New Horeca collective agreement 2024 is a reality

KHN, together with FNV Horeca and CNV Vakmensen, has agreed a new collective agreement for the hotel and catering industry. It was announced today that the constituencies agreed to the previously announced negotiation result. With this, the new Horeca CBA is a fact. The new Horeca CBA will take effect on 1 January 2024 and will run until 31 December 2024.

The structural staff shortage in the hospitality industry demands a strong response. With the new collective agreement, KHN, FNV Horeca and CNV Vakmensen are striving to ensure a strong and sustainable future for the hospitality industry by setting minimum working conditions that move the sector forward.

The new Horeca collective agreement includes important changes to position the hospitality industry as an attractive employer and to compete with other sectors in the labour market. These include a new wage table and wage development, improving the purchasing power of hospitality workers while taking into account the challenges in the sector. The new Horeca collective agreement also includes a minimum traineeship allowance for the first time, a development platform will be set up and a focus on a good work-life balance will continue.

KHN president Marijke Vuik: "With the recent and upcoming government adjustments to the legal minimum wage, it was clear that adjustments were necessary. But with this collective agreement, we are also making work of being a good employer. After all, we want a sector in which employees can develop, grow and also make a normal living with their salary. This collective agreement, on the one hand, gives employers room to continue doing business but, at the same time, gives employees growth and career prospects."

Edwin Vlek, director FNV Horeca: "With the collective labour agreement and the agreements herein, we are taking an important step forward in terms of employment conditions. Here, it is crucial that we continue to work together as social partners on a future-proof and attractive sector in which it is nice for hospitality employees to (continue to) learn and work."
