National Restaurant Week makes luxury dining out affordable again

National Restaurant Week makes luxury dining out affordable again

This week the National Restaurant Week and this time it lasts until 19 October, so a longer period for gourmets to enjoy top restaurants at a soft price. Reservations can be made at up to 501 carefully selected restaurants throughout the Netherlands, and experience shows that the number of available tables fills up quickly. The National Restaurant Week concept has been the same for 20 years: specially composed menus at a fixed attractive price. What is new in this edition: more focus on new restaurants, experience and quality.

Under the motto "On a culinary voyage of discovery", organiser DiningCity invites guests to let go of their familiar restaurants for a while and instead discover the new vibrant Dutch food scene with the assurance of a carefully curated selection of fine dining, hip hotspots and hidden gems. DiningCity research shows that 82% of people get to know new restaurants during Restaurant Week.

The revamped Restaurant Week revolves around four new ingredients:

  1. Selected with taste and stars
This edition again presents a wonderful list of Michelin-starred restaurants, throughout the country and with attractive menu prices. Some resounding names include De Juwelier* in Amsterdam which already offers a 3-course lunch for €38.50, Kaatje bij de Sluis* in Blokzijl with a 9-course dinner for €69.50 and Beluga* in Maastricht with a 5-course lunch for €135. For the ultimate all-in experience, join Parkheuvel** in Rotterdam for the 5-course dinner with wine pairing, priced at € 207.75 per person.
  1. Carefully selected restaurants
For the first time, Restaurant Week organisers are selecting only restaurants with a Google rating of 4.0 or higher. Moreover, the number of restaurants selected has been reduced to 501. DiningCitythus shifts emphatically towards a curated selection with more attention to quality and transparency.
  1. Luxury dining out affordable again
We all notice that eating out is becoming increasingly expensive, so for guests, Restaurant Week is the chance to enjoy an exclusive menu at a bargain price. For restaurants, it is an opportunity to welcome new guests, without compromising on quality or experience.
  1. Creating memories
Eating out is more than just eating; it connects people and creates memories. For many people, Restaurant Week is increasingly a time of guaranteed good food.
