Hotel De Zeevaartschool festively opened and nominated for award

With bangs, magic and lots of fun, Hotel De Zeevaartschool was officially opened last Friday, 29 August. Although the hotel has been receiving guests since June, the special moment did not go unnoticed. Together with everyone who is or has been involved in the project, the opening of this special hotel was celebrated.

The festive evening was dominated by music, snacks and drinks. The official opening moment was kicked off spectacularly with an impressive cannon shot by shooting club SV De Fles Vlissingen, after which illusionist Victor Mids surprised attendees with a magical opening act.

Hotel De Zeevaartschool nominated for Entree Awards 2025

After the grand opening, there is great news again: Hotel De Zeevaartschool has been nominated for the Entree Awards 2025, also known as the Oscars of the hospitality industry. Awarded annually to the most innovative and distinctive concepts in the hospitality industry, the Entree Awards are considered an absolute measure of quality and creativity. 

Hotel De Zeevaartschool is competing in the Best New Casual Hotel category. A title reserved exclusively for the very best new accessible hotels in the country. The nomination not only confirms the hotel's exceptional hospitality and unique image, but also puts Vlissingen firmly on the map as a vibrant hospitality destination.

The presentation of the Entree Awards will take place on 1 December in Amsterdam, at a grand gala gathering of the absolute top of Dutch hospitality.

And during the day, at Hotel De Zeevaartschool it is Open Monuments Day 365 days a year. Every day between 12.00 and 16.00, anyone can walk in freely to experience the unique atmosphere of the national monument, right up to the viewpoint in the characteristic little tower.
