House of Noa opens at the Beurs van Berlage this weekend

Reservations now open for visits from 10 January

House of Noa opens its doors this weekend in the basement of UNESCO national monument the Beurs van Berlage. The new culinary late-night destination brings together gastronomy, design and nightlife in one integrated evening experience. Inspired by international icons such as Hotel Costes in Paris and Chiltern Firehouse in London, House of Noa positions itself as an elegant, contemporary destination where dining gradually evolves into nightly escapades with live DJs.

Layered flavours and omakase precision

The kitchen of House of Noa is headed by chef Ken Srisangkhan, owner of the eponymous Ken Sushi, and is based on Asia's fast-growing temaki bar scene: a social and dynamic food culture in which hand-rolled sushi, or temaki, takes centre stage. The menu also offers a carefully curated selection of izakaya dishes, kaiseki-inspired plates, sashimi, salads and oysters, which together form a versatile and surprising culinary experience.

All dishes are prepared à la minute and served at a temperature that maximises texture and flavour, shaped by the omakase tradition where precision and timing are essential. Balance, layering of flavours, texture and temperature thus form the starting point of a menu that combines the sophistication of omakase with the freedom of an à la carte experience.

Signature dishes include the Temaki Spicy Tuna EN Temaki Wagyu, in which flavours are carefully layered and reinforce each other. The temaki are also designed so that the nori stays crisp for longer. Another highlight is the Black Cod Miso: a classic on menus of high-end Asian-fusion restaurants, which at House of Noa gets a contemporary twist. Instead of an instant salty umami bomb, the flavours here unfold gradually, subtly building up for the Western palette.

The open-plan kitchen flows seamlessly into the bar and is a visible part of the experience, allowing guests to follow how dishes are prepared à la minute and served at the perfect time. Although the quality and method are inspired by omakase, the guest determines the pace, order and composition of the menu. This creates a culinary experience that moves with House of Noa’s characteristic course of the evening.

"For me, life is about sharing moments - with good people and really good food. In the Beurs van Berlage, we want to create a place where passion for sushi and hospitality come together." - Ken Srisangkhan, chef and owner Ken Sushi.

An interior that connects worlds

House of Noa opens on 10 January 2026 in the basement of the Beurs van Berlage, one of the Netherlands' most iconic national monuments and recognised UNESCO world heritage. For the new interior, House of Noa together with Marie Martin, the creative duo behind renowned projects such as the signature suite of the luxury Castille Paris hotel, the award-winning Thai restaurant at the Jumeirah Al Qasr Hotel in Dubai and Zum Barbarossa in London.

For the interior of House of Noa Marie Martin was inspired by the mystical atmosphere of a nineteenth-century Hong Kong opium house, enriched with Parisian allure. Handmade decorative elements, specially designed for House of Noa, are combined with authentic Asian antiques and modern lighting and sound techniques, creating a warm coloured, maximalist decor. From heavy velour in deep shades, to gold-leafed arches and wall coverings that invite touching, House of Noa offers an interior that, like the sensory concept itself - culinary, musical and social - brings together different influences.

Characteristic of House of Noa is the rhythm of the evening. What starts as a dining experience gradually evolves into a rhythmic night programme with live DJs. This transition creates a dynamic setting where gastronomy and social interaction come together, enhanced by the historic grandeur of the Beurs van Berlage.

"After the success of The Seafood Bar, which also opened in the Beurs van Berlage in 2024, it is a dream come true to now be able to put up something that has never before been realised in this iconic location. As a national monument, the building breathes history and grandeur, and with Ken, who makes the best sushi in Amsterdam, we combine design, gastronomy and experience." - Pepijn de Visscher, founder and co-owner of House of Noa and co-owner of The Seafood Bar Group
