The opening of the Efteling Grand Hotel has not only created a luxurious stay within the theme park, but also added two new culinary attractions: Brasserie 7 and Restaurant-Bar Mystique. Both locations are now open and receive daily guests who are surprised by special flavours and a unique atmosphere.
On the ground floor of the Efteling Grand Hotel is Brasserie 7, an atmospheric brasserie with lush vegetation and views of the Aquanura water show. Here, hotel guests can start their day with an extensive breakfast buffet and à la carte specials such as Eggs Benedict, waffles or scones. From 11am, the brasserie is also open to park guests for lunch and dinner.
The menu consists of seven classic dishes per course, with surprising additions such as pixie dust or dragon's breath. The sunny terrace offers stunning views of Aquanura and a private dining room is available for parties of up to 20 people. Brasserie 7 combines approachable conviviality with a touch of Efteling magic.
One floor up is Restaurant-Bar Mystique, where guests enjoy an evening culinary experience. Visitors put together a 'magical flavour formula' that defines the dishes. The surprises are not only in the flavours, but also in the presentation:
table decorations that turn out to be edible or an appetiser that literally catches fire. The dinner lasts at least two hours and feels like a gastronomic fairy tale in which young and old play a role.
Next to the restaurant is the elegant lounge bar, open daily from 4pm. Signature cocktails, special wines and bar bites are available here. With views of the Island of the Five Senses and the Aquanura pond, it is an ideal place to end a day at the Efteling in style.
The culinary leadership of Mystique is in the hands of Teun van Berlo, a chef from Brabant with experience at top restaurants such as De Lindehof in Nuenen, Chuchara in Lommel, Somm in Uden, Sillyfox in Veghel and Zarzo in Eindhoven. He won prestigious awards such as the Young Chef Award Euro-Toques (2022) and the Grand Concours Bollinger (2023).
About his approach, Van Berlo says: "At Mystique, we work with a flavour formula of 12 refined flavours. Nothing is what it seems, so be prepared for unexpected surprises in taste, smell and layout. Think of table decorations that suddenly turn out to be edible, or an appetiser that catches fire. We work with local ingredients with a story, creating a unique experience for young and old. We are the only high-end restaurant in the Benelux that also focuses on the younger guest. I am incredibly looking forward to mystically surprising our guests."
The addition of these restaurants underlines the Efteling's ambition to be more than a day attraction. The Grand Hotel, with rooms, wellness and gastronomic delights, is a full-fledged extension of the Efteling experience. After a day in the park, guests do not step back into reality, but continue their fairytale adventure in one of the restaurants.
