‘Wine Bar of the Year’ election is up again!

Consumers can vote for more than 150 wine bars across the country

It is time again for the election: ‘Wine bar of the Year’! For the tenth time in a row, the election will take place and more than 150 wine bars will compete for the coveted title of ‘Wine bar of the Year 2025’. Each year, the competition starts with a public round in which wine lovers can vote for their favourite wine bar. Followed by mystery visits from an expert jury. Last year, wine bar Buskens in Nijmegen ran away with the title - which establishment will get your vote and become the 2025 winner?

Out of the 25 wine bars with the most votes, the expert jury will choose 10 wine bars based on their online performance to advance to the next round. The 10 nominees will be visited unannounced by the jury in the last month of the year. You can vote for your favourite wine bar from today until 7 December via www.wine-bars.nl. In previous editions, more than 12,000 consumers cast their votes. Not only the participating wine bars go up for a prize, consumers who cast a vote also have a chance to win a unique prize. In fact, a winner will be randomly selected from all voters to win a Ribera del Duero wine tasting at his or her favourite wine bar!

The election is made possible by wine region Ribera del Duero. Ribera del Duero, which literally means bank on the Duero (a river in northern Spain), is Spain's best-known wine region with a high reputation. The wine-growing region covers more than 27,470 hectares, has 316 wineries, 4,904 grape growers and is found in the heart of north-central Spain, 120 kilometres above Madrid. The vineyards are located some 720 to more than 1,000 metres above sea level and therefore have an extreme climate with very hot summers and freezing winters. The difference between day and night temperatures is enormous. As a result, the grapes develop full and complex aromas. Wines from the DO Ribera del Duero are distinguished by their high quality and limited production.
