Château St. Gerlach named Best MICE Hotel in the Netherlands
At the beginning of December 2025, Silvie Slachter will join the management team of Oostwegel Collection as Director of Sales. In this position, she will lead the Sales, Revenue Management, Meetings & Events and Reservations departments. With her extensive experience in hospitality, sales and event organisation, she will play an important role in further strengthening the commercial position of Château Neercanne, Kruisherenhotel Maastricht and Château St. Gerlach, the latter of which was recently named ‘Best MICE Hotel in the Netherlands’.
Slachter (43), born and raised in Limburg, gained her extensive experience at MECC Maastricht, among other places, where she was responsible for sales, production, programming and marketing as product manager of the BBB and Folie Culinaire hospitality trade fairs. Since December 2023, she has also held the position of vice-chair at Euro-Toques Netherlands, further strengthening her local and national network and involvement in the culinary sector.
Silvie is looking forward to further developing Oostwegel Collection as a whole. “Our three houses each have a unique character, but share the same ambition: to offer an intuitive guest experience and facilitate meaningful encounters. My goal is to increase our commercial strength by enhancing our visibility, building new partnerships and positioning our proposition even more consistently and distinctively in the market.”

Shortly after her appointment, Château St. Gerlach, part of the Oostwegel Collection, received the title of ‘Best MICE Hotel in the Netherlands’ at the World MICE Awards 2025. This international recognition emphasises the estate's strong position as a business meeting location and is an inspiring start for Slachter in her new role. “This award is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and hospitality of our teams,” says Camille Oostwegel, owner and managing director. “With Silvie's experience and fresh perspective, we can further expand our MICE ambition, not only for Château St. Gerlach, but for all our properties. Her appointment fits perfectly with our strategy to further deepen quality and experience in all segments of the market.”
Slachter sees the recognition as a strong foundation for further growth: “The fact that Château St. Gerlach has been named the best MICE hotel in the Netherlands emphasises the potential of Oostwegel Collection as a top destination for business meetings.”
