Hotel The ED Amsterdam, located near Leidse Square, will from today continue as Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square. The hotel, previously part of the Eden Hotel Group, is the third of the 12 recently acquired Eden hotels to be transformed into a Leonardo Hotel. Earlier this month, hotels in Maastricht and Groningen already officially became part of the Leonardo Hotels Group. A total of 12 hotels are scheduled for rebranding in the coming year - five of which are in Amsterdam. The takeover involves adjusting the name and branding as well as integrating systems into the Leonardo Hotels network.
With the acquisition of the 12 hotels of the Zien Group, Leonardo Hotels has significantly strengthened its position in the Netherlands. The group adds a total of five Amsterdam hotels to its portfolio. Besides hotel The ED, the iconic Eden Hotel Amsterdam, The Manor, The Lancaster Amsterdam and Jan Luyken Amsterdam also fall under the Leonardo Hotels hotel umbrella.
Today, the Leonardo Hotels logo was officially attached to the façade of the former The ED Hotel. This marks the first step in the hotel's rebranding to Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square. The hotel is the third hotel in a row of 12 former Eden hotels taken over by the Leonardo Hotels Group to undergo a rebranding. In addition to a new name and logo, the hotel's internal systems were fully transferred today.
Hans Komen, General Manager of Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square: "We are proud to now be part of the Leonardo Hotels portfolio. Our hotel with a perfect base a stone's throw from the bustling Leidseplein is a hidden gem of tranquillity in busy Amsterdam. With 71 colourful rooms with surprising details and an excellent price-quality ratio, we expect to welcome our guests with pleasure and good service and show them around with our team in this beautiful city that this year celebrates its 750ste birthday celebrations."
Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square is located in trendy Oud-West, with numerous local cafés and eateries around the corner. Major museums such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum are within walking distance, as is the green Vondelpark. This makes the hotel the perfect base to explore both the Museum Quarter, the 'De Hallen' area and the Vondelpark.
The rebranding of The ED Amsterdam to Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square marks an important step in Leonardo Hotels' growth strategy in the Benelux. With an impressive network of nearly 300 hotels in more than 132 destinations worldwide, this move provides the opportunity to offer guests an even wider range of options and enhanced service. At the same time, Leonardo Hotels continues to invest in quality and hospitality. In the coming months, the remaining acquired hotels will gradually be integrated into the Leonardo Hotels network. Besides the five Amsterdam hotels and the already rebranded hotels in Maastricht and Groningen, the rebranding of top location hotels in well-known cities such as The Hague, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Groningen, Hengelo and Leeuwarden is also planned. This will make the European hotel chain one of the largest and leading chains in the region.
