Handwritten Collection expands in Belgium and embraces the beauty of botanicals with a new hotel in Liège, in collaboration with Step Partners and Alchemy Step Hotel Group.

Handwritten Collection, a carefully curated selection of distinctive hotels worldwide, is proud to announce the opening of Blooma Hotel Liège Centre – Handwritten Collection, located in the heart of Liège.

Since its launch in 2023, Handwritten Collection has been bringing together hotels with a distinct personality, genuine warmth and the unique hospitality of their hosts. With more than 30 hotels already open and over 35 additional projects in development, the collection continues to grow, with exceptional locations that focus on human connection and individuality.

In 2025, growth continued in Europe, with new openings in Hungary (Debrecen), Romania (Bucharest), Greece (Heraklion) and in France (Paris), Belgium (Antwerp) and the Netherlands (Rotterdam, Maastricht). Each hotel reflects the personality of its host and welcomes guests as if they were coming home to a stylish, personal environment.

Blooma Hotel Liège Centre – Handwritten Collection is a hidden garden in the heart of the city. The 149 rooms refer to the iconic botanical gardens of Liège and to the history of the building, which was once a monastery. All this is enhanced by the ‘Personal Touch of the Host’. As is typical of the Handwritten style, subtle botanical themes, intuitive design and centuries-old heritage come together in spaces that each tell their own story.

The personal touch of ‘Hidden Garden’ is an ode to the city, but also to the childhood memories of general manager Vanessa Sari, who spent her summers in her grandmother's walled garden. That feeling of tranquillity and nature lives on in the hotel, bringing an oasis of calm to the bustling city centre.
The hotel is owned by Alchemy Step Hotel Group (ASHG), while Step Partners is responsible for its management. Both parties are collaborating with Accor on several projects, including the recently opened Maek Hotel Antwerp Central – Handwritten Collection.

Behind its centuries-old walls, Blooma Hotel invites guests to discover its hidden garden. Upon arrival, tea made from herbs grown in the hotel garden is served. In the bar, those same herbs are given a new lease of life in the signature ‘Garden Cocktail’, perfect for sipping while leafing through the carefully selected books on flora and fauna in the social hub.
The rooms subtly bring the building's monastic past to life, complemented by understated botanical art. Upon departure, guests receive a bag of seeds to continue the gardening experience at home.

The hotel is located behind historic walls, yet right in the centre, on the Meuse River. An ideal base for visiting Liège: medieval sights, legendary waffles and, of course, the botanical gardens that inspired the hotel concept.
