Live-fire restaurant Nela is now open in Ibiza

The Nela Ibiza summer pop-up at the 7Pines Resort promises to be the culinary must-visit of this summer.

Nela, Amsterdam's best-known live-fire restaurant, is taking its very first step towards international expansion with the opening of a culinary pop-up in summer 2025 at the exclusive 7Pines Resort in Ibiza, in partnership with 7Pines Executive Chef Óscar Salazar. On the serene west coast of this idyllic island, Nela Ibiza offers a high-end gastronomic experience throughout the season. Behind the concept are internationally renowned chefs Hari Shetty EN Ori Geller, in collaboration with British entrepreneur Gilad Hayeem. 

Pure gastronomy

The name 'Nela' has its origins in Sanskrit and means 'pure' - an apt translation of the essence of the live-fire restaurant, which focuses on the most authentic form of cooking, on an open fire. This pure cooking method brings out the best in Nela's careful selection of high-quality ingredients, while preserving natural texture, flavour and presentation.

Nela's new location in Ibiza exudes the same, well-known culinary DNA as in Amsterdam. The menu will have a local character, enriched with fresh and seasonal produce from the region.

A seasonal menu

Nela Ibiza's versatile and layered menu takes humble ingredients to new culinary heights. With sophisticated raw dishes, including oysters with fermented chilli and smoked oil, and flavourful vegetable preparations, such as a summery tomato salad with harissa dressing, the menu offers a fresh tone as the perfect complement to the sun-drenched island. Other 'signature' dishes are prepared with precision on an open fire. Think Chilean sea bass with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt, juicy yellowtail with black truffle and lemon sauce, and a half lobster with guajillo butter and a slight hint of tangerine. The menu, with Ibiza-inspired flavours, is enhanced by an extensive wine list featuring wines from the world's best regions, complemented by a selection of classic as well as innovative cocktails.

7Pines Resort

Ibiza, acclaimed worldwide for its hospitality, vibrant atmosphere and elevated culinary offerings, provides the ideal setting for Nela's international debut. Nela Ibiza opens at the 7Pines Resort - a conscious choice, befitting Nela's vision of luxury and sophisticated design. The resort's minimalist setting and understated elegance are a natural extension of Nela's DNA. Perched on the cliffs of Ibiza's west coast, the resort overlooks the Balearic Sea and the mysterious, uninhabited island of Es Vedrà. Culinary pioneers

Hari Shetty and Ori Geller are at the helm of Nela and together bring two decades of experience on the international stage. Having spent years working for top restaurants such as Nobu (London), YaffoTelAviv, Izakaya, TheDuchess EN Mr.Porter (Amsterdam), Shetty and Geller brought their shared passion for connecting people, culture and tradition to life with the opening of Nela in 2022. In just under two years, the restaurant has become one of the most celebrated culinary destinations in Amsterdam and the surrounding area.

Following this Dutch success, Nela is now taking its first international step with the opening of a pop-up in Ibiza, further expanding the iconic concept's culinary boundaries. Later this year, Nela will additionally open its third location - the second permanent restaurant - in the iconic The Whiteley in London.

Nela Ibiza is open every Wednesday to Sunday from 7pm.
