With Ruby Giulia, the Ruby Group opens its second hotel in Italy, following the successful opening of Ruby Bea in Florence. The 164-room hotel transforms a historic government building in the heart of Rome into a Lean Luxury hotel combining cinematic design, local ambience and modern comfort.
Ruby Group, led by CEO and founder Michael Struck, is expanding its presence in Italy with the opening of Ruby Giulia. The hotel is located on Via Agostino Depretis just steps from Piazza Venezia. The former Ministry of the Interior, some 5,300 square metres in size, has been transformed into a 164-room hotel. Ruby Giulia is designed as an urban retreat in the middle of the city, with a 24/7 bar & café, inviting lounge areas perfectly blending into the neighbourhood and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views over the ancient city.

Ruby Giulia's design is inspired by the glamour and intrigue of 1970s spy thrillers, subtly referencing the building's past as part of the internal security services. Inside, guests are immersed in a cinematic world of deep emerald green, burnt orange and shades of red. All this combined with terrazzo surfaces, brass details and soft velvet fabrics. The atmosphere feels both mysterious and inviting, like walking onto a film set where the next scene could be shot at any moment.
Influenced by Fellini and Roman filmmakers, whose work still leaves a mark on contemporary Italian culture, the design honours cinematic craftsmanship in every detail. Mirrors on the walls and ceilings in the public areas constantly create new perspectives through which guests catch playful glimpses of the space from other angles, a nod to espionage and secret observation.
Hints to the building's history are subtly woven into the storytelling of “From Rome with Love.” Through a mix of rich colours and vintage furniture, the interiors create the charm of days gone by without losing their modern character. Each room is carefully decorated to exude an intimate and expressive atmosphere, full of character.

Ruby Giulia is located in the bustling Monti district, one of the city's most authentic neighbourhoods, where cobblestones, artisan shops and lively cafés exude the real Roman atmosphere. Just steps from Piazza Venezia, the hotel is within walking distance of highlights such as the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and Termini station. Fiumicino Airport is just 35 minutes away. Surrounded by small boutiques, traditional osterias and creative studios, Ruby Giulia feels like a natural addition to the neighbourhood - a place where locals and travellers gather for an espresso, an aperitivo or a late-night drink under Rome's starry skies.
Ruby Giulia has 164 rooms in four categories: Cosy, Lovely, Wow and Loft. Measuring between 17 and 31 square metres, the rooms are designed for the modern traveller who values quality and simplicity. The signature Ruby features are of course present: luxurious beds, a rain shower, blackout curtains and mood lighting that takes you into the moment of the day. Whether you are travelling alone, as a couple or on business. Each room offers a quiet and elegant stay in central Rome. Room rates start at €170 per night for a single stay excluding breakfast.

Ruby Giulia is part of the Ruby Group. Ruby Hotels was acquired by IHG Hotels & Resorts in early 2025, joining IHG's global portfolio. The partnership with IHG gives Ruby Hotels access to powerful distribution and technology systems and, of course, to one of the largest and strongest hotel loyalty programmes in the world: IHG One Rewards.
