The latest edition of the Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam, Europe's leading event for independent hoteliers and boutique hotel professionals, will take place on 22 and 23 April 2026. The show brings together visionary entrepreneurs, suppliers and experts from the hospitality sector for two days of inspiration, innovation and networking opportunities.
The Independent Hotel Show offers a carefully curated selection of exhibitors. Visitors can learn about the latest products and services in design, technology, guest experience and operational efficiency. In addition to the exhibition floor, the event offers an extensive programme of inspiring lectures, panel discussions and hands-on sessions. Leading speakers will share their insights on industry trends and developments such as sustainability, digitalisation and creating unique guest experiences. This year's theme is: Shaping Tomorrow: Where Innovation Meets Independent Spirit.

The interest in independent hotels is growing steadily, as travellers increasingly opt for authenticity, personalised service and a unique experience. These independent hotels distinguish themselves with their own character and strong local roots, creating a more personalised guest experience. The Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam responds to this by focusing specifically on the needs of independent hotels. In the Netherlands, approximately 78% of hotels are independent and therefore not affiliated with a chain; in the rest of Europe, this share is slightly lower, underlining the strong position of this segment in the Netherlands.

‘The Independent Hotel Show is the place where innovation and inspiration come together for the independent hotelier,” said organiser Chaya Huisman. “We look forward to welcoming professionals from across the industry back to Amsterdam and helping them take their business to the next level. Topics important to hoteliers such as AI, Regenerative Hospitality will be discussed, but also the effects of the VAT increase, the future of the hotel restaurant and the rapidly changing expectations of guests. Safety is also an important theme of the fair, both for hotel guests and employees. From smart cameras that can recognise unsafe situations or abandoned luggage to advanced locks to a panic button at the reception or a night receptionist in the form of a hologram that can remotely guide the guest when checking in. There is also a strong focus on design. Designers present the latest trends in décor, furniture and lighting.’

The Independent Hotel Show will present awards for best Independent Hotel, best Independent Hotelier and best hotel design. The awards are made possible by Hotek Hospitality Group. The list of the most influential people in the hotel industry, the Hotel Influencers 100, will also be announced. The event offers plenty of opportunities to network with peers and build new business relationships.
