Hotek has been at the forefront of smart access control and hospitality solutions for the hotel industry for years. With the introduction of the new Hotek Hospitality App, the company is taking the next, logical step in digital hotel innovation. The app gives hoteliers real-time visibility and full control over access management, maintenance and guest communication. “And all from one conveniently arranged environment,” says Hotek Hospitality Group CEO Duco Salomons.
For years, Hotek has been known for solutions that simplify the guest journey. Hotek's best-known solution is YourMobileKey, which allows guests to open their hotel room via their smartphone, with no app download and no vulnerable Bluetooth connection. “That system is now widely accepted in Europe,” Salomons says. “But we saw that the next step was logical: more insight and convenience for the hotelier himself.”
That step has now been taken with the Hotek Hospitality App, available for download on the App Store and the Google Play Store. “You can think of it as an extension of YourMobileKey,” he explains. “The Mobile Key web app is primarily aimed at the guest; this new app is there for the hotel team.”

Through the app, the hotelier gets instant insight into what is happening in the hotel in terms of access. The dashboard shows all information at a glance: who has checked in, what room are they staying in and what are their check-in and check-out times? The dashboard also shows how many more guests are expected that week and how many have left in the meantime. “That kind of information is valuable, especially for larger hotels,” says Salomons.
In addition, the app makes physical keys and master keys unnecessary. “The hotelier can use the app to open doors while walking through the hotel. All doors are linked online, so you have complete control in your pocket.”

A key advantage of the app is predictable maintenance. “We show the battery status per lock,” says Salomons. “With many systems, you still have to pass each door with a cable. That takes time and is error-prone.”
In case of low battery voltage, the hotel automatically receives a notification. “This allows you to intervene before a guest notices that something is wrong. That prevents complaints and stress moments at reception.” According to Salomons, this form of predictive maintenance not only increases efficiency, but also job satisfaction. “Nobody gets energy from preventively checking dozens of doors,” he says.”
The Hospitality App goes beyond technology. For instance, it also integrates a chat function, allowing hotels to communicate directly with guests. “This makes the guest experience more personal and central,” says Salomons. “Everything to do with access and accommodation comes together in one system.”
Existing Hotek customers can use the app at no extra cost. “It is a service extension. For new customers, it is an additional reason to choose our Mobile Key solution.”
Continuous innovation by Hotek does not go unnoticed. This was also evident recently at the Horeca Expo in Ghent, where YourMobileKey took centre stage and was presented with an award. “That was great recognition for the team,” says Salomons. “It confirms that our choices match what hoteliers really need.”

That line will continue into 2026. In April, Hotek will be present at both the Independent Hotel Show in Amsterdam and the Food Hotel Tech in Paris. At the latter show, the new Hospitality App will be emphatically presented as an innovation. “There we will show how this app makes a difference in daily hotel practice,” Salomons said.
However, innovation does not stop at one app, emphasises Hotek's CEO. “We continuously invest in new technology. For example, the NFC Cloud is under development, which will further optimise access and key management. This is another step, but always with the same starting point: smart innovations that move the hotel forward, without making it complicated.”
