A hotel stay is the time to get a good night's sleep. Sleeping well ensures that you are the best version of yourself. But how does a good bed make for a better hotel experience? Based on their own experiences, Swiss Sense experts Marion de Graaf (manager business development B2B), Ralph Bongaerts (manager B2B) and Raudhi Ohorella (manager partnerships) explain why a good bed matters.
A good bed supports the body and makes you look fitter, healthier and sharper. It also affects how you experience your day. De Graaf explains how a hotelier can capitalise on this. "The bed is a prominent item in a hotel room. Then you better make sure it looks good and is also comfortable." Ohorella adds: "In addition, it is important for hoteliers that a bed lasts a long time and is lumber-proof. All box springs in our collection feature a solid box and we use the best materials."
Research shows that good sleep and hygiene are the most important criteria for a pleasant stay. De Graaf says: "A hotel can look so nice and the facilities can be so fantastic, but if you have a bad night's sleep - because your bed is uncomfortable or your hotel room is too noisy - then it detracts from everything else the hotel has to offer. That negatively affects your experience. And that's a shame."
Ohorella hooks in: "People know Swiss Sense as a quality brand. With our years of experience, we have built that up among consumers. If you, as a hotel guest, are in that enthusiastic flow from moment one and you also sleep well, then you really stand out positively as a hotel. That way, you can distinguish yourself well as a hotelier and the positive customer reviews do pour in."
More and more hotel guests even decide to purchase the bed for home. Bongaerts says: "We get a lot of customers in our shops who visit us after spending the night in a hotel. They want the same bed at home as in the hotel. That does show how incredibly well they slept."
Using their large database and years of experience, Swiss Sense puts together the perfect bed for all hoteliers. Ohorella says: "Based on our collected data, we create the ideal composition in terms of comfort. We aim for generic lying comfort, so that for the vast majority of guests we offer a stable and comfortable bed that ensures a good night's sleep."
To offer the perfect beds, Swiss Sense listens to tips and advice from their partners. "We learn more and more from consumers and from sleep. We use that knowledge and expertise to innovate and improve our products. In this, we learn a lot from our hoteliers: what do we see there and what should we respond to?", says Bongaerts.
When you invest in a good bed, you invest in the future. Ohorella explains: "In our boxes, we use plywood. That is plywood hardwood, a material that is almost impossible to break. In the consumer market, we therefore give a 15-20-year warranty on it. So incredibly durable."
Swiss Sense has joined the sustainable initiative Matras Recycling Nederland. "The moment we deliver to (new) partners, we take the old mattresses with us so that we can process them properly. This way we see if there are usable parts that we will then recycle again."
Swiss Sense is a Dutch family company that delivers quality from generation to generation. Bongaerts: "That is also an important form of sustainability. We have been taking good care of our employees, customers and our environment for generations."
