Below you will read the official Privacy Statement of Louwers Mediagroep in Weert (NL) and Louwers Mediagroep in Oostkamp (B), hereinafter referred to as Louwers. This privacy statement has been prepared in accordance with legal provisions such as the Personal Data Protection Act and also, with effect from 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

Louwers values your privacy. Through this Privacy Statement, we inform you that we treat the data of our relationship network with the utmost confidentiality and care. Personal data will only be processed in accordance with the aforementioned legal provisions.

What does this Privacy Statement apply to?
This Privacy Statement provides information on the processing of personal and business data by or on behalf of Louwers and relates exclusively to the use of personal and business data of its clients, suppliers and visitors to the website and users of Louwers's newsletters.

This Privacy Statement applies exclusively to the websites of Louwers, which are affiliated with the corresponding trade journals.

This privacy statement therefore does not apply to third-party websites, newsletters and other media communication channels, such as, for example, the websites or apps that Louwers refers to on its websites and in its mailings/newsletters. We advise you to consult the privacy policies of these third parties on the relevant websites.

In what way do we collect personal data?
Louwers may receive information from you in the following ways:

  • Directly from you: For example, by entering into an agreement with us, when you contact us by e-mail, telephone or in writing, or by subscribing to our newsletter.
  • Via third parties: We regularly use the services of third parties, such as external freelancers and freelancers, who work as editors or photographers for our magazines and websites. These third parties then act on behalf of Louwers. This Privacy Statement also applies to data collected through these third parties when acting on behalf of Louwers and its affiliated websites, newsletters and trade magazines. We are not responsible for the collection of data not on behalf of Louwers. In this regard, we refer you to the privacy policies of these relevant third parties.
  • Through its own initial acquisition: Louwers is a commercial organisation that carries out acquisition within the target groups of various trade journals on many different prospects. We manage this partly also externally acquired data exclusively for our own acquisition purposes.

What personal data do we collect?
Louwers may process personal and business data because you use Louwers's services and products or because you have provided it to us yourself when completing, for example, a contact form on one of Louwers's trade magazine websites.

Louwers may - depending on the contact options you use - process the following personal and business data:

  • Contact and account details - such as the first and last name provided by you, address details, including postcode, fixed and/or mobile telephone number, e-mail address(es) and any login details.
  • Job titles of individuals within organisations for the purpose of correct addressing by us and approach in connection with our acquisition purposes.
  • Dates and times of appointments made by our editors and photographers.
  • Payment and billing data - in case you have entered into an agreement with us - such as for financial processing your bank details, registration number with the Chamber of Commerce and VAT numbers.
  • Technical browser information; Cookie ID; Click and browsing behaviour.

Why do we collect your personal data?
Louwers uses the personal and business data obtained in the first instance to best fulfil the agreements entered into. The personal and business data obtained is also used for Louwers's internal administration.

Here you can think of:

  • Maintain and improve the contractual relationship with (potential) clients, the relationship network, suppliers, external self-employed persons and freelancers such as photographers and editors with whom we work or for the improvement of Louwers's services and products.
  • Informing the activities of Louwers by sending informative digital newsletters.
  • Handling complaints and compliments.
  • Making offers for our acquisition purposes.
  • Applying and implementing all legal obligations arising from the Personal Data Protection Act and the General Data Regulation.

Louwers's various trade magazines each have their own website and newsletter system. Louwers regularly sends newsletters by e-mail. If you feel that you no longer wish to receive a newsletter, you can use the legally required unsubscribe link, which is included in the digital newsletter.

With whom do we share your personal and business data?
Louwers may share your personal and business data with its own employees for the purpose of acquisition purposes for the organisation, with the externally hired freelancers and freelancers such as photographers and editors, who will then contact you at the behest of Louwers to carry out various work for the relevant websites, newsletters and/or the aforementioned trade magazines.

Louwers may be obliged to provide your personal and business data because of a legal obligation incumbent on Louwers and/or in response to urgent requests to do so by the authorities.

In the latter case, Louwers has taken the necessary organisational and contractual measures to ensure that personal data are processed and protected in accordance with European and Dutch legislation.

How long do we keep your data?
Louwers retains your data for no longer than necessary for the performance of the agreements and in any case no longer than 5 years after the agreement has been terminated, unless this is necessary to comply with a legal retention obligation, as expressed in laws and regulations from, for example, the Tax Authorities.

How are your personal and business data secured?
Louwers has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure all data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. Louwers has adopted an information security policy and implemented physical, organisational and electronic measures in compliance with it.
