Golden Tulip Hotel Central: Sustainability as a strategic pillar

At a time when sustainability is becoming increasingly important for guests and investors alike, Golden Tulip Hotel Central is once again proving that it is more than a trend follower. The iconic Bossche hotel has once again won the prestigious Green Key Gold certificate - a recognition that underlines not only its environmental efforts but also its broader commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Sustainability as an integral part of hotel management

Sustainable business requires vision and continuous innovation. That is exactly what Golden Tulip Hotel Central is doing. The hotel, which considers sustainability an integral part of its business strategy, has made significant strides again this year. The internal Green Team plays a key role in this, with both technical upgrades and operational improvements contributing to a more sustainable hotel business.

Concrete measures contributing to Green Key Gold certification:
✔ Smart climate control: Heating is split into zones, optimising energy saving.
✔ Electrification of mobility: New charging points for electric cars and e-bikes.
✔ Circular cleaning: Complete switch to eco-friendly cleaning products.
✔ Waste reduction: Better waste separation, with the direct result of less residual waste.
✔ Minimising food waste: Additional measures to reduce food waste awarded by province of North Brabant.
✔ Renovations with impact: 60 hotel rooms renovated to Green Key standards.
✔ CO₂ reduction and water saving: Active policy to minimise emissions and consumption.
✔ Committed employees: Initiatives such as waste separation in the halls come from the team itself.
✔ Local corporate social responsibility: Sponsoring and supporting local initiatives, from heritage conservation to nature projects.

120 years of progressive business

This year, the hotel is celebrating its 120th anniversary and remains focused on the future. Director Karin Rademaker emphasises the importance of sustainability as a strategic focus:

"As a family business, we look beyond tomorrow. Our sustainable choices today determine the hospitality of the future. This certificate is not an end point, but a confirmation that we are on the right track."

This certification strengthens Golden Tulip Hotel Central its position as one of the most progressive hotels in 's-Hertogenbosch in terms of sustainability. An example for the sector where sustainability, operational efficiency and guest experience are increasingly intertwined.
