NH Hotels & Resorts introduces updated breakfast

All 211 NH Hotels, across 24 countries and 134 cities in Europe and America, present an updated breakfast concept

NH Hotels & Resorts is launching a new breakfast concept with a focus on sustainability, variety and local products. The brand serves eight million breakfasts annually, representing 32% of total food & beverage sales. This revamp therefore represents an important strategic move.

Sustainable and varied options

NH Hotels & Resorts' revamped breakfast offer is carefully tailored to the wants and needs of all guests - from conscious eaters with active and healthy lifestyles to lovers of sweets and local produce. Special attention has been paid to allergen recognition and sustainability, with concrete measures such as the elimination of individually packaged portions and the elimination of soy products.

One of the most notable innovations is the introduction of specialised breakfast bars with innovative and nutritious combinations, including:

• Yoghurt bar: Guests can create their own yoghurt bowl with more than 15 toppings such as nuts, dried fruits and cereals without added sugar.
• Raw bar: fresh, chef-prepared bowls with balanced recipes. Examples are the Energy Bowl with cucumber, kale, mint, pomegranate and a hummus base for an energetic start to the day, or the Asian Zing Bowl with almonds, white radish, edamame, bean sprouts and a yoghurt base with chilli - a true flavour explosion packed with plant proteins.
• New vegan breakfast options have also been added, such as teriyaki beetroot as a tasty alternative to turkey or ham and pumpkin hash with vegan chicken.

Artisanal and local

Bread and pastries remain an essential part of daily offerings. NH Hotels & Resorts is introducing a wide range of artisanal and nutritious bread varieties. The familiar pastries and cakes will remain, but will be complemented by more local varieties, allowing guests to enjoy authentic flavours from the region where they stay.

A renewed look

The new breakfast buffet will have a contemporary and organic look with warm earth tones and playful height differences, creating dynamism and an inviting atmosphere. This carefully designed presentation will make breakfast an even more enjoyable experience for guests.

Sustainability pledge

NH Hotels & Resorts is further expanding its partnership with Too Good To Go to combat food waste in hotels in the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Germany. Through this platform, daily surprise packages of leftover buffet products will be offered at a reduced price. By 2024, this has already saved more than 41,830 kilos of food and over 1,129 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

In Latin America, NH Hotels & Resorts collaborates with similar initiatives, including WINIM in Argentina, GoodMeal in Chile and Colombia, and Cheaf in Mexico.

The revamped breakfast concept will be introduced in all 211 hotels across 24 countries and 134 cities in Europe and America. 
In the Netherlands, the new NH breakfast is now available in all hotels.
