Handwritten Collection strengthens position in Europe and opens new hotels in Amsterdam and Rotterdam

Handwritten Collection, a collection of carefully curated hotels launched in 2023, is further expanding its presence in Europe. More than 10 new hotels will open in the coming months, including a special new address in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

With an authentic, intimate and stylish approach, Handwritten Collection embodies the essence of elegant and welcoming hotels, reflecting the uniqueness of their hosts. Already represented in popular destinations such as Paris, Krakow, San Francisco, Sydney and Singapore, the brand now takes the next step in the Netherlands with the opening of the Grand Canal Boutique Hotel Amsterdam - Handwritten Collection and the Le Marin Boutique Hotel Rotterdam - Handwritten Collection. These will be the second and third Handwritten Collection hotels in the Netherlands, following the opening of Hotel Ter Zand in Burgh-Haamstede last year.

Handwritten Collection is part of Accor's global network and is seeing increasing interest from hotel owners and developers, leading to strong expansion in Europe. In addition to Amsterdam, there will also be Handwritten Collection hotels in Rotterdam and Maastricht opening. Furthermore, the brand will soon debut in Greece, Switzerland, Albania and Hungary, and strengthen its presence in Accor's home market France with new openings in Corsica, Brittany and the Basque Country.

New in the Netherlands!

Grand Canal Boutique Hotel Amsterdam - Handwritten Collection (Netherlands) - This 25-room hotel offers a stylish stay in the heart of Amsterdam, with its stunning canal-side location the perfect base to explore the city in all its beauty. Opening this summer, the hotel is the second Handwritten Collection hotel in the Netherlands, following the opening of Hotel Ter Zand - Handwritten Collection in Burgh-Haamstede in Zeeland last year.

Le Marin Boutique Hotel Rotterdam - Handwritten Collection (Netherlands) - This charming boutique hotel with 35 stylish rooms offers a warm and personal atmosphere in the vibrant heart of Rotterdam. With contemporary design and a welcoming ambience, it is the ideal base to explore the dynamic port city. Le Marin Boutique Hotel is the newest member of the Handwritten Collection in the Netherlands, following the previous additions of Hotel Ter Zand in Burgh-Haamstede and the soon-to-open Grand Canal Boutique Hotel in Amsterdam.

Some other new European acquisitions:

Rocca a Mare Heraklion - Handwritten Collection (Greece) - This unique hotel and first Handwritten hotel in Greece, will be located on the beautiful island of Crete. It offers breathtaking panoramic sea views from every seat, so guests will always have stunning views in their rooms, while dining or lounging by the pool. Combining sleek, high-tech design with modern luxury, the 36-room hotel features beautiful spaces that combine modern aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. The wellness area will be like a peaceful haven, with a full-service spa and a fully equipped fitness centre to promote relaxation and well-being. It is scheduled to open in spring.

Hotel Lycium Debrecen - Handwritten Collection (Hungary) - Located in Debrecen, Hungary's second largest city, the hotel offers 92 modern rooms and four flats as well as a restaurant and bar. The hotel will be part of a city development that also includes the Kölcsey Centre, the largest and most modern conference centre in eastern Hungary, and the Museum of Modern Art (MODEM). The hotel will welcome its first guests this summer.

Hotel Meierhof Davos - Handwritten Collection (Switzerland) - Opening later this year, the hotel will be the brand's first hotel in Switzerland. Dating back to 1890, when Davos was developing as a spa and leisure destination, the landmark building has been modernised several times, with another small-scale renovation planned for the near future. But always with an emphasis on preserving the authentic character of the Grisons. Located within walking distance of the Parsennbahn, the hotel has 37 rooms and a modern wellness area. The property also houses "Restaurant Jarno", the oldest restaurant in Davos.

Hotel Giacomo Morra Alba - Handwritten Collection (Italy) - The newest Italian hotel in the Handwritten Collection portfolio opens this spring after a complete renovation and pays tribute to the celebrated entrepreneur and restaurateur whose name the hotel bears. The 92-room hotel, including four suites, combines contemporary comfort with local heritage. Guests can unwind in the Green House lounge, enjoy a selection of wines at the bar or relax in the hotel's charming courtyard. The property also features three modular meeting rooms and a fitness centre.

Hôtel de l'Abbaye du Tronchet - Handwritten Collection (France) - As the name suggests, this newly opened historic property was once an abbey and is located between Rennes and St Malo. With beautiful spa and wellness facilities and well-equipped MICE rooms, the star of the show is the hotel's restaurant with the menu featuring a modern dish based on a "galette saucisse", a traditional street dish from Brittany.
