The Vingcard Story
Our story began in 1974, when locksmith Tor Sørnes heard about the attack on his favourite American singer, Connie Francis, by an intruder in her hotel room. This incident led to the invention of the world's first keycard door lock, designed to protect hotel guests around the world. Around the same time, Bjørn Lyng produced the first electronic in-room safe. In 1994, Sørnes and Lyng joined forces as VingCard Elsafe to better address the evolving needs of the hospitality industry.
