The MICHELIN Guide has included Hotel Ryder in its international hotel selection. The boutique lifestyle hotel at Fort Isabella in Vught is listed in the guide under the destination ‘Den Bosch’ and is one of ten selected hotels in North Brabant. This recognition has come quickly: just two and a half years after opening, the hotel has been recognised by MICHELIN.
The MICHELIN Guide selects hotels worldwide based on five criteria, including architecture, interior design, service, character and value for money. For owner Marloes van de Wiel, this listing is in line with the vision she had when she founded Ryder. “Above all, we wanted to create a hotel with its own unique character – an authentic place where atmosphere, design and genuine hospitality come together. The fact that we’re now featured in the MICHELIN Guide makes us incredibly proud.”
Since February 2024, the former main building of the Isabella Barracks has been home to Hotel Ryder. Behind the historic façade lie thirty spacious rooms, where high ceilings and historic windows blend with contemporary design. Its location at Fort Isabella, between the city centre of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and nature reserves such as Het Bossche Broek and the Vughtse Heide, gives guests access to both the city and the countryside.
According to Van de Wiel, the recognition is primarily down to the team. “You can never build something like this on your own. Every day, there’s a fantastic team that makes Ryder what it is.”
For Ryder, being included in the guide is not the end of the story. The hotel continues to invest in the guest experience and has set its sights on its next goal: an official MICHELIN Key. MICHELIN awards this special distinction to hotels that offer an exceptional stay.
“We never stand still. Precisely because Ryder is still young, we’re always looking to see where we can improve. Where we can create an even better experience and give our guests just that little bit more attention. And now? Off to get that key!”, says Marloes proudly.
