Lightspeed launches new tools for hospitality and retail to streamline processes, improve customer experience and drive growth
Checkout and payment platform Lightspeed Commerce Inc. (NYSE | TSX: LSPD) today announced a wide range of product innovations for the third quarter, including Lightspeed Reservations, Lightspeed Tempo and Lightspeed Tasks. These new features help retail and hospitality entrepreneurs operate more easily, offer better service and grow with confidence.

Central to these product launches is the launch of Lightspeed AI: the new, AI-driven layer within Lightspeed's retail and hospitality platforms helps business owners get insights faster, make decisions easier and work more efficiently. Since January 2026, users in Lightspeed Retail and Lightspeed Restaurant can ask questions in plain language via a smart assistant and receive concrete, real-time insights instantly, without complicated dashboards or reports. Lightspeed AI is designed to grow into an increasingly autonomous assistant for business owners. During 2026, the solution will be further expanded with additional functionalities for retail and hospitality.

Lightspeed Reservations is an integrated solution for managing reservations and table scheduling, both online and over the phone, directly within the Lightspeed platform. The tool was developed for hospitality businesses looking for an accessible and affordable way to organise their reservations management. Automatic reminders help reduce no-shows and take much of the work around reservations off their hands.
For years, the pace of restaurant service was determined mainly by intuition. Placating guests, perusing courses and presenting bills was seen more as an art than science. Lightspeed Pace changes this by making service Tempo measurable, controllable and repeatable. Together with the Lightspeed Kitchen Display System, Tempo helps hospitality teams with their entire workflow: from entry to bill. Real-time visibility into order times, preparation status and dispensing creates a consistent service pace, leading to faster table changes, stronger teams and satisfied guests. Tempo is now available in beta for selected Lightspeed Restaurant customers and will be rolled out more broadly later this year.
Lightspeed Tasks is a new digital checklist solution that helps hospitality teams carry out tasks in a structured and consistent way. Entrepreneurs can create recurring workflows for opening, closing and cleaning procedures, among others, so that standards remain the same across different locations. Employees receive reminders and can complete tasks via the Lightspeed Pulse mobile app, while managers get real-time insight into progress and urgent notifications.
Lightspeed Mobile Tap is a compact payment solution that allows restaurants to accept various payment methods without expensive hardware. Whether attached to an iPad on the counter or used in combination with Lightspeed Tableside, Mobile Tap makes it possible to take orders and process payments anywhere. The solution is currently available in countries including the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland.
Lightspeed eCom's new Theme Store (E-series) gives retailers access to a carefully curated collection of e-commerce themes developed by design and industry experts. The themes are optimised for conversion and allow you to build a professional webshop without technical knowledge. Both free and paid themes can be previewed and tested.
Customer-facing displays are now available for users of Lightspeed Payments Smart Terminals, without additional hardware. This simple and cost-effective solution offers more overview during checkout.
Retailers get more flexibility in contactless payments with the Lightspeed Scanner app, which now allows payments to be accepted on Android devices. The functionality is available to Lightspeed Payments customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada and Australia, among others.
