For Hotek, international cooperation goes beyond just delivering technology. Above all, it is about trust, personal contact and understanding what customers really need. This is why Hotek has been working for years with Regina Coeli, the well-known language institute known as the “nuns of Vught”.
Duco Salomons, CEO of Hotek, is consciously investing in his German language skills. As he himself says: “Sprache ist für mich ein wichtiger Teil in internationaler Zusammenarbeit.” Germany is an important market for Hotek, where more and more hotels are switching from mechanical keys to modern access systems.
Also Jan Harberink, Facility Manager at Regina Coeli, emphasises the value of strong cooperation. Regina Coeli asked Hotek to replace all hotel room locks, with two clear requirements: rooms had to be securely locked from the inside and it had to be visible from the outside whether a room was occupied. Hotek translated that request into a suitable solution and immediately thought ahead, with the possibility of adding mobile key technology in the future.
Cooperation between the two organisations has now been going on for 11 years. As Harberink puts it, “It's not a supplier, it's just a partner of yours.”
For Hotek, this project shows what modern hospitality is all about: security, efficiency, flexibility and personal contact. More and more hotels are opting for modern access systems, such as key cards and mobile solutions like Your Mobile Key. It is precisely in this development that language plays a central role: those who understand customers better can also offer better solutions.
