Hotel Thermen Berendonck redefines the standard of luxury in the Netherlands: wins the Best Luxury Hotel Award within its first year

One year after opening, Hotel Thermen Berendonck has established itself as one of the most exclusive hotel destinations in the Netherlands. Thermen Resorts‘ first five-star hotel was recently honoured with the ’Best Luxury Hotel Award 2025’ at the renowned Entree Awards. This reaffirms the hotel’s position as a luxury destination where interior design, gastronomy and relaxation come together.

With 103 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a wellness spa, a gym and a retreat centre, Hotel Thermen Berendonck has, since its opening, deliberately chosen to carve out a distinctive position within the Dutch hospitality market. Whilst the adjacent Thermen has been renowned for its wellness facilities since 2019, over the past year the hotel has developed into a destination in its own right for guests seeking tranquillity, luxury and high-quality service.

Design inspired by India and Ayurveda

The interior of Hotel Thermen Berendonck, designed by interior architect Linda Pol, combines international allure with tranquillity and refinement. The suites are designed as carefully curated lifestyle retreats that embody values, tranquillity, luxury and high-quality service. Influences from India and the holistic principles of Ayurveda are evident in the rich materials, warm lighting and bespoke design pieces brought back specially from India. From metre-high mosaic pillars to large windows and serene views: every space within the hotel has been designed as part of a single integrated experience in which aesthetics, spirituality and comfort come together.

Sapna Restaurant

Alongside Brasserie Numa, the fine-dining restaurant Sapna reinforces the hotel’s luxury reputation by offering a gastronomic experience for just thirty guests per evening. The restaurant has high ambitions for a Michelin star, which is why refinement and personalised service are central to its ethos. The restaurant also features an exclusive private dining room and an extensive wine collection.

The Maharaja Suite: the ultimate in private accommodation 

The Maharaja Suite, at 180m2, is the hotel’s largest and most exclusive accommodation. This Maharaja Suite has been designed for guests seeking maximum tranquillity and privacy. Featuring a lounge, a private wellness area including a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room, and butler service, the suite offers a completely discreet stay where guests can retreat for several days without having to leave the hotel.

“These days, luxury is no longer just about comfort, but about space, tranquillity and attention,” says General Manager Rodolf Weytingh. “We wanted to create an environment where guests can really slow down, relax, stay the night and completely escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.”
