Innovation and Luxury: new trends for hotel interiors

Hotel interior design is all about experience. The right interior takes a stay to the next level and makes it unforgettable. At ETC. in Culemborg, hoteliers will find leading brands that contribute to this-from luxury bathroom accessories and innovative lighting to artisanal mattresses. Hotelvak introduces some of these exhibitors.

Decor Walther: discreet luxury in the bathroom

With more than 50 years of experience, Decor Walther, represented in the Netherlands by Sventex, offers an exclusive line of bathroom products that give hotels a sophisticated and timeless look. Sven Raijmakers, founder of Sventex, says: "These products are contemporary and slightly different, perfect for hotels that want to stand out."

Decor Walther, which once started from a shop in Frankfurt, has since 1973 grown into a specialist in high-quality bathroom accessories, such as mirrors, trays, storage boxes, spare roll holders and much more. This makes it possible to coordinate all products in a bathroom. Decor Walther's aesthetic is timeless and understated, with a focus on craftsmanship. "The main material the company works with is brass. This is hand-soldered by specialised factories and is available in as many as ten colours," Raijmakers says. Materials such as crystal, porcelain, glass, wicker, solid surface, wood and leather are also used.

The products match the luxurious interior vision of high-end hotels such as Hotel 27 on Dam Square, but boutique hotels can also use them to create a unique atmosphere. Hoteliers are welcome to visit the ETC showroom or the Independent Hotel Show in Amsterdam to get acquainted with the collection.

POLDR: Striking designs and creative statements

POLDR's showroom at the ETC. in Culemborg is all about eye-catching designs and creative statements. Owner Marc Poldermans explains: "We are known for our large, eye-catching products, available in various colours and sizes, often produced in the Netherlands. Hotels often choose our designs because of their unique look."

One of POLDR's special collaborations is with Atelier Wandschappen in Rotterdam. Here, loose leaves and flowers are made of felt in as many as 100 colours, which combine perfectly with our vases. Together, these objects form impressive compositions that are real eye-catchers in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Besides decorative decorative objects, lighting plays a big role in POLDR's range. Eye-catching lamps with a unique design not only attract attention but also add character to a room. "Our lamps are loved by hoteliers who want to think outside the box," says Poldermans.

One of the latest light objects is the Escape Modular Light System. This modular pendant light system, consisting of one to 12 elements, creates a striking statement piece. Poldermans: "Escape is not only visually powerful, but also practical: one driver controls the entire system, which is ideal for hotels."

Another showpiece in the collection is the Noema table. This robust organic dining table, available in sizes up to 4.20 metres and in any RAL colour, is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. "We want to challenge hoteliers to be daring," emphasises Poldermans. "A hotel is allowed to be extravagant. That makes all the difference!"

Candia: Greek perfection for hotel sleeping comfort

Candia has had a permanent home at ETC for seven years. "We were looking for a showroom where our customers could experience our mattresses and where we could interact with hoteliers and stylists," says Hans de Jong, owner of agency Luxury Dream and importer of Candia. This Greek brand stands out for its artisanal mattresses with a focus on ventilation and sleeping comfort.

"Candia works with natural materials. These have the advantage that they regulate heat very well. This not only extends the lifespan, but also increases sleeping comfort." The brand's collection includes more than 29 types of upholstered bed bases, mattresses and a new line of beds, which are handmade from start to finish. Upholstered mattresses are deliberately avoided. "Changing fitted sheets is better from a hygiene point of view, but if there is a demand, we can also offer upholstered mattresses."

According to the importer, the Greek brand seeks the perfect balance between quality and price. "For example, Candia also offers a special hotel line, but in addition, at ETC. we are presenting an exclusive handmade mattress made of 100% natural materials and without glue. This is an investment, but ideal for hotels that really want to stand out." Candia is loved by boutique hotels and luxury accommodations; guests at a B&B in Beusichem, for example, specifically appreciate the sleeping comfort in reviews.

Curious about these products and many more brands? During the Trade Days on Monday, the entire ETC. will be open. Of course, visitors are also welcome by appointment and during the ETC. Design Experience. www.etc-dc.com
