Marriott International signs agreement for eight hotels in the Netherlands

Marriott International, Inc. announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Townhouse Hotels, adding eight hotels and over 700 rooms to its Dutch portfolio. Six hotels are expected to join Series by Marriott™; this marks the brand’s entry into the Dutch market. Two hotels will become part of Tribute Portfolio, the growing Marriott collection of independent hotels, each with its own character.

These are city hotels in five Dutch cities. Marriott is expanding its presence in Amsterdam, Breda and The Hague; in Maastricht EN Eindhoven This marks the first time the company has been represented by these hotels. This move strengthens Marriott’s position in key Dutch destinations and offers travellers a wider choice within its portfolio.

“This agreement marks an important milestone for Marriott International in the Netherlands. Series by Marriott is coming to the Netherlands

Series by Marriott is a collection brand that brings together established, regionally renowned hotel brands into a single, carefully curated portfolio, designed for travellers seeking comfort, value for money and a local atmosphere. Each hotel tells its own local story and reflects the character of the region and the guests who stay there. The experience is simple and accessible, with the basics well taken care of.

The hotels expected to form part of Series by Marriott:

  • Townhouse Amsterdam WTC, Series by Marriott – Following a rebrand, the current Hotel Qbic WTC Amsterdam will continue as Townhouse Amsterdam WTC, Series by Marriott. The hotel has 84 rooms and is situated in the Zuidas, one of the city’s most important business districts.
  • Townhouse The Hague, Series by Marriott – The hotel is conveniently situated in the Dutch capital, has 88 rooms and offers easy access to government institutions, international organisations and cultural attractions.
  • Townhouse Maastricht, Series by Marriott – The 82-room hotel is situated close to Maastricht’s historic centre and marks Marriott’s arrival in one of the Netherlands’ most charming cultural and culinary destinations.
  • Townhouse Mabi Maastricht, Series by Marriott – A distinctive boutique hotel with 55 rooms, housed in a former cinema, where local heritage blends with contemporary hospitality.
  • Townhouse Kaboom Maastricht, Series by Marriott – The hotel is renowned for its distinctive design and lifestyle concept; it has 79 rooms and caters to modern travellers seeking a vibrant stay.
  • Townhouse Breda, Series by Marriott – Following a rebrand, the current Hotel Keyser will continue as Townhouse Breda, Series by Marriott. With 106 rooms, this is the largest Series by Marriott hotel in the portfolio. It is situated in one of the fastest-growing regional cities in the Netherlands.

Tribute Portfolio is expanding in Europe

Tribute Portfolio brings together hotels with character that stand out for their distinctive design, a vibrant social atmosphere and a strong connection to their local surroundings. The brand is further expanding its presence in Europe. With the planned addition of two hotels in this key market, the collection of independent hotels is growing once again, offering travellers experiences rooted in their destination.

The two hotels expected to join the Tribute Portfolio:

  • The Ald Hotel The Hague, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel – A boutique hotel with 91 rooms in the heart of the city, featuring contemporary design, a local flavour and a personalised guest experience.
  • Hotel Mariënhage Eindhoven, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel – The 134-room hotel is situated in a listed former monastery complex and combines historic architecture with modern hospitality. It marks Marriott’s arrival in Eindhoven, one of Europe’s leading centres for technology and innovation.

This expansion underlines Marriott’s strategy of growing in Europe through partnerships with established owners and operators. With a mix of boutique and independent hotels across the Netherlands, Marriott appeals to a wider group of travellers seeking authentic, locally inspired experiences.

As of the second quarter of 2026, Marriott has over 30 hotels in operation in the Netherlands, spread across 12 brands, each catering to a different type of traveller and travel destination. The brands currently represented in the Netherlands are:
