The TOPPR of 2023

The TOPPR of 2023 award ceremony took place yesterday during the Horecava at the RAI in Amsterdam.

An initiative of TIPPR, this award recognises the dedication of hospitality workers and aims to create awareness about the hard work in the hospitality industry. These professionals' passion and commitment to their work are rewarded on this special day with an award: TOPPR of 2023. For this award, 12 hospitality employees were nominated and put in the spotlight, thus highlighting not only their own brand awareness and professionalism, but also that of the company they work for in a positive way.

This special day and associated award are the initiative of TIPPR. This initiative was conceived with the aim of putting dedicated hospitality employees in a well-deserved limelight and giving them the recognition they so deserve. It is a day where passion and dedication within the vibrant world of the hospitality industry and hospitality employees take centre stage. For the first time, the prestigious title TOPPR of 2023 will be awarded to a hospitality employee who is not only a source of inspiration but also contributes to the brand awareness of their workplace.

THE WINNER

Max Grootendorst fulfils the role of sous chef at restaurant Bij Erik in Leidschendam. Every day, he is ready to dominate the kitchen and provide guests with an unforgettable culinary experience. His dedication and helpfulness have crowned him the TOPPR of 2023. In his position as sous chef, Max acts as the right-hand man to owner and chef Erik Tas. When Erik is busy with his other restaurant, 't Ganzenest, Max takes the helm. "I have the most beautiful job in the world, because I get to work with honest, pure products in an artisanal way every day," says Max.
