First building makes campus development visible for the first time
Construction has started on the first building at Health Innovation Campus Boxmeer: a dual-branded hotel by Marriott International. With the driving of the first pile, the campus becomes physically visible for the first time. The start of construction was marked with a ceremonial moment, when involved parties jointly gave the starting signal with a symbolic hotel pass. With a check-in, construction was officially launched.
The Health Innovation Campus Boxmeer focuses on bringing together care, technology and innovation in one environment. The construction start marks the first visible step in an environment where organisations work on innovation in care and health.
The hotel, located at the main entrance of the campus, will soon play a central role within the campus by facilitating accommodation, meetings and collaboration between companies, knowledge institutions and healthcare organisations. The dual-branded concept comprises 295 rooms under Courtyard by Marriott and 123 serviced flats under Residence Inn by Marriott.

The building was designed by UNStudio and inspired by the surrounding UNESCO Maasheggen landscape. Including a conference centre, restaurant, bar and green terraces, the hotel supports the dynamics of the campus and the activities of organisations that gather here. It is expected to open in summer 2028.
For Necron Group, this construction start marks the first visible step on the campus.

This is also an important development for the Land van Cuijk municipality.

The campus is part of a broader movement in the region in which cooperation is becoming increasingly important. The region is committed to a future-proof economy, with a focus on innovation, talent and the connection between healthcare, knowledge institutions and business.
Boxmeer's location, between the regions of Nijmegen and Oss and with good connections to Germany, makes the campus easily accessible for both regional and international organisations. The proximity of Eindhoven Airport and Düsseldorf Airport, and good accessibility to Schiphol Airport, contribute to the international accessibility of the location.
