New learning and knowledge platform helps hotel teams turn their sustainability ambitions into tangible improvements and better business results
One year after the launch of the Future Ready Hospitality Collective (FRHC), the platform is taking the next step in its mission to make the hospitality sector more sustainable, more conscious and better equipped for the future. To mark its first anniversary, FRHC is announcing the launch of the Future Ready Hospitality Academy: an online learning and knowledge platform that helps hotel teams achieve improvements in the areas of energy, circularity, food waste, technology and innovation, guest experience, staff wellbeing, social engagement and operational efficiency. Under the motto “Turning Impact into Profit”, the Future Ready Hospitality Collective demonstrates how sustainability can contribute to commercial success.
Through the Academy, FRHC helps hotel staff to translate sustainability ambitions into concrete actions that contribute to both a positive impact and improved business results. The Academy’s aim is therefore clear:
“Enabling hotel teams to turn impact into profit.”
Experts from the Hotel Management School Leeuwarden, Green Label Service and other professionals from the hospitality sector are making substantive contributions to the learning programmes and masterclasses. In addition, specialist partners from the Future Ready Hospitality Collective network are sharing their knowledge, practical experience and real-world applications. Hotel Management School Leeuwarden, Green Hotel Club, Green Key and Green Label Service are supporting the launch of the platform within the Dutch hospitality sector.
Many hotel organisations today have clear ambitions in the areas of sustainability, cost control, innovation and future-proof business practices. However, the challenge often lies not in setting the direction, but in the implementation. How do you ensure that department heads, supervisors and staff have the right knowledge and practical tools to actually implement changes?
The Future Ready Hospitality Academy supports hotels in this regard with a combination of on-demand e-learning courses, interactive online masterclasses, real-world case studies and knowledge-sharing between professionals from different hotel organisations. From technical services to housekeeping, from F&B to procurement, HR and general management: every department gains access to relevant content that ties in with day-to-day operations.
The Future Ready Hospitality Academy will be officially launched on 29 October 2026. From that date, hotels will be able to sign up for a subscription to the online learning and knowledge platform via www.futurereadyhospitalityacademy.com.
What sets the Academy apart from many traditional learning platforms is its focus on collaborative learning. Staff not only learn within their own organisation, but also gain access to the experiences of colleagues from other hotels who are facing similar challenges, as well as to experts and professionals who can offer them further support.
Housekeeping managers can learn from housekeeping managers at other hotels. Technical services teams share practical experience relating to energy management, maintenance and installations. F&B teams exchange knowledge on food waste, procurement and operational efficiency. By actively sharing knowledge, experiences and practical results, the platform aims to accelerate the implementation of successful solutions within the sector.
“Ultimately, it is not policy plans or strategies that make the difference, but the people who make decisions on the shop floor every day. Through the Academy, we want to ensure that knowledge and inspiration are accessible to entire hotel teams, so that good ideas can be turned into tangible results more quickly,” says Linde Borger, co-founder of Future Ready Hospitality Collective.
The monthly masterclasses are at the very heart of the Academy. Each session addresses a specific issue facing hotels today.
Examples of topics include:
Each session is led by experts from the hospitality sector and specialists from
the Future Ready Hospitality Collective network. Knowledge partners and affiliated partners also make substantive contributions, including relevant real-world case studies and practical applications. Where possible, the theory is supported by examples from hotels that share their experiences, challenges and results achieved.
Participants can also ask questions directly to the experts and professionals from the hotels involved.
In addition to the interactive masterclasses, the Academy also offers on-demand knowledge and learning modules, as well as inspiring real-world examples. This enables staff to explore relevant topics at their own convenience and gain knowledge that is directly relevant to their day-to-day work. Relevance to the entire sector
According to FRHC, the Academy is responding to a number of current developments within
the hospitality sector.
On the one hand, there is a growing need for knowledge and engagement amongst staff. Younger generations, in particular, increasingly expect employers to actively involve them in developments relating to innovation, social impact and forward-looking business practices. On the other hand, hotel organisations are under pressure from rising costs, staff shortages, changing guest expectations and increasing legislation and regulations.
The Academy offers hotel teams insight into how operational improvements can contribute to cost savings, greater efficiency, stronger staff engagement and better business results. At the same time, the platform offers hoteliers an accessible way to discover innovative solutions and organisations that can support them in achieving their ambitions. Strong growth in the first year
The launch of the Future Ready Hospitality Academy marks a new milestone for
the Future Ready Hospitality Collective.
Since its inception, the platform has grown into a network of more than thirty affiliated partners and experts working in a wide range of fields, such as energy management, waste reduction, the circular economy, technology, mobility, the food transition and building optimisation.
In addition, FRHC is constantly working to expand its network of hoteliers, suppliers, investors, advisers and knowledge partners in order to drive the transition within
to provide further support to the hospitality sector. Second edition of the Future Ready Hospitality Conference announced
