Decade of diversity and inclusion celebrated with festive activities
This year marks a special milestone for INK Hotel Amsterdam - MGallery Collection: the luxury design hotel celebrates its tenth anniversary. Since 2015, diversity and inclusion have been the foundation of the hotel's identity. Therefore, on Thursday 24 July - during Pride Amsterdam - INK Hotel will once again transform into PINK Hotel, colouring the hotel pink for ten days. In honour of this anniversary, there will be a series of festive activities, including educational meetings, PINK Botomless Brunch and PINK Chef's Menu. Splashing highlight is the legendary opening party INK goes PINK.
INK Hotel owes its identity to the rich history of the property, which until 1974 housed the editorial and printing offices of the newspaper The Time were located. The name 'INK' is based on the fact that on this spot ink flowed daily for writing newspaper articles. The hotel embraces its past and focuses on storytelling; the property's history can be felt everywhere. The hotel concept fits well with the philosophy of MGallery Collection, the luxury brand within hotel group Accor, which focuses on hotels with a special history and character of their own. In recent years, INK Hotel has developed into a popular spot in the centre of Amsterdam.
Since opening in 2015, INK Hotel Amsterdam - MGallery Collection has been a place where diversity and inclusion are central. This is not just a value, but the core of the hotel identity. For instance, for ten years, the hotel has been committed to making all employees and guests - regardless of origin, age, gender, religion or sexuality - feel accepted, respected and safe. To celebrate diversity, the hotel transforms into PINK Hotel every year during Pride Amsterdam. What started as an initiative to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion in a festive way has grown into a ten-day celebration with a wide range of activities. This year, the anniversary will be celebrated in extra grand style with ambassadors, educational meetings and the legendary INK goes PINK-festival on Thursday 24 July, on the opening night of Pride.
Jolanda de Smit, General Manager INK Hotel Amsterdam - MGallery Collection: "Ten years of INK Hotel means celebrating not just a milestone, but a journey we have taken together with our guests and our team. It is a story of connection, of creating a place where everyone feels welcome, seen and respected. Diversity and inclusion are not temporary trends for us - they are the foundations on which we were built and the values we are proud to promote. With INK goes PINK, we celebrate this core of who we are, but also look ahead to the future. This tenth edition not only marks what we have achieved, but is also an ode to the power of an inclusive community. It is a celebration of all that is possible when we work together for a world where everyone is allowed to be themselves."
Over the past decade, INK Hotel Amsterdam - MGallery Collection has received several prestigious awards, including the Bernaches Award in 2016 and 2021 for PINK Hotel Amsterdam, the Dutch Hotel Award 2016 for 'Best Management Team The Netherlands' and recently the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2024 for 'Best Luxury Lifestyle Hotel in The Netherlands' and 'Best Interior in Europe'.
