Jeannine Sok joins Hotelvak Benelux as editor

Hotelvak Benelux expands its editorial team with Jeannine Sok. Sock, who is already associated with Hotelvak as a columnist, will now also contribute as an editor to the platform and trade magazine for hotel management, furnishing and design.

Sok is known in the industry as a hospitality expert and as the Netherlands' first gastologist. From her company Gastology, she trains and coaches organisations in strengthening professional hospitality. She wrote several books on hospitality, developed the board game Gastologie and makes the podcast series The Stammtisch, in which she talks to hospitality professionals about the profession, guest behaviour and the value of genuine attention. She has also teamed up with Sven Heijkoop initiator of Cosy, the independent hospitality hallmark for the hospitality industry. Both initiatives underline its active role in making professional hospitality visible, discussable and measurable.

With her arrival as editor, Hotelvak Benelux brings in an outspoken professional who knows the hotel and hospitality industry inside out. Sok grew up in a hospitality family, worked in the hospitality industry herself and in recent years built a broad network within hospitality, training, entrepreneurship and hospitality development. “Jeannine brings exactly what Hotelvak Benelux stands for: expert knowledge, practical experience and a keen eye for the people behind the hospitality industry,” says Daniel Bundle, Editor-in-Chief of Hotelvak Netherlands. “With her track record, network and experience, we are more than happy to deepen the cooperation. As a columnist, she already showed that she knows how to connect content, vision and practice perfectly. As editor, that role now takes on even more weight.”

Sok is also looking forward to her wider role within Hotelvak Benelux. “Nice that Hotelvak pays a lot of attention, it is the core of our profession. I think it's great to make even more stories, insights and practical examples from the industry visible through Hotelvak Benelux. The hotel industry is in full swing and especially now it is important to share knowledge, experience and inspiration with each other.”

In her new role, Jeannine Sok will focus on interviews, background stories and editorials around hospitality, hospitality culture, employees, guest experience and entrepreneurship within the hotel industry.
