BANKS Antwerp now part of Carlton Hotel Collection

Carlton Hotel Collection expands. The four-star BANKS Antwerp, located in the historic heart of the city, is the latest addition to the international hotel company. With its quirky character and unique location, the hotel fits perfectly within the collection. Carlton takes over both ownership and day-to-day operations. After 15 years, owners Carla Bartels and Daan Terlingen will hand over the baton on 1 July. As of the same date, Roelof Meijering will start as hotel manager in Antwerp. BANKS Antwerp is the second hotel in Belgium for Carlton Hotel Collection, bringing the total number of hotels to thirteen.

Inspiring mix

BANKS Antwerp, on the corner of Steenhouwersvest, is located in the city's trendy Fashion District; Antwerp's hip shopping district, with an inspiring mix of exclusive designer shops, vintage shops, galleries and, of course, cafés and restaurants. Even within the walls of BANKS, the themes of fashion and art have a prominent place, including changing exhibitions by mostly young artists. For coffee, tea or extended drinks, there is the tranquillity of the atmospheric courtyard garden in summer, and on cold days it can be enjoyed by the cosy fireplace.

Like a coat

Daan Terlingen is enthusiastic about the new development: "Carla and I have built BANKS from the ground up and lovingly developed it all these years. Our urban hotel has a beautiful spot in the city and has won the hearts of our guests. Carlton Hotel Collection currently consists of thirteen four-star hotels, including seven in the Netherlands, four in the UK and two in Belgium. The hotels are owned both in terms of operation and real estate by Carlton Hotel Collection. Each hotel is run by a driven team led by the General Manager who manages the hotel as an entrepreneur. Carlton therefore distinguishes itself not only in diversity, but also in atmosphere: personal, warm and hospitable. With a total of 600 employees, Carlton Hotel Collection is a hotel company of stature.
