Hotel V opens at Oosterpark in Amsterdam

First opening since acquisition by Conscious Group marks sustainable turning point in upper-upscale strategy 

On 1 August 2025, Hotel V will open its newest and most sustainable location to date: Hotel V Oosterpark - by Conscious. The four-star hotel - with 88 rooms in the heart of Amsterdam East - is the brand's first new opening in almost a decade and the first under the Conscious Group banner, which acquired Hotel V two years ago. The opening marks a new phase in the group's growth strategy, aimed at qualitative expansion in the upper-upscale segment and a sharpened focus on sustainability. This opening is in line with Conscious Group's long-term vision, which aims to operate 2,500 rooms at home and abroad before 2030, all with a strong sustainable profile. 

Breathtaking views over Amsterdam East

The view from the hotel is undoubtedly one of the highlights of a stay: some rooms border directly on the green Oosterpark, giving guests the impression of being almost in the middle of the trees. Others offer unique views over the park, the iconic World Museum or the lively Dapper neighbourhood. Floor-high windows blur the boundary between inside and outside; the surrounding greenery is literally brought inside. This connection with nature is subtly extended into the interior, with warm wood tones, organic shapes and materials reminiscent of moss and grass - reflecting the serene atmosphere of the park.

With a four-star rating and positioning in the upper-upscale segment, Hotel V Oosterpark - by Conscious targets the modern business traveller and ecoluxury citytripper with an eye for quality and families who value space and comfort. The 88 rooms are designed with comfort, tranquillity and functionality in mind. There are 18 rooms with connecting facilities, including 7 with kitchen (pantry), ideal for families and/or longer stays. A new restaurant and cocktail bar will soon open on the ground floor. Accessible to hotel guests and local residents. Here you can go all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, events and more. The exact opening date and the name of the owner will be announced soon.

New milestone in sustainable hospitality 

Hotel V Oosterpark - by Conscious is one of the most sustainable hotels in the city and the most sustainable location within the Hotel V family, which has pioneered sustainable hospitality in Amsterdam for many years. The hotel is completely gas-free, uses WKO (heat and cold storage) and features triple glazing. The interior is carefully composed with Cradle-to-Cradle products and FSC-certified wood. Operational processes - from housekeeping to energy management - also comply with Conscious standards, which are anchored in the group's six sustainable brand promises. 

Design of stature

The hotel is housed in an extraordinary 1967 building, previously named one of the 100 most important post-war buildings in the Netherlands. In collaboration with renowned architect Wiel Arets, the building has been transformed into a modern retreat with a minimalist look and expansive windows. Combining historical character with contemporary comfort, Hotel V enriches Amsterdam's hotel offer.
