According to the jury report, the Sigma40 control plate managed to stand out for its distinctively slim shape - only four millimetres thin - and panoramic design that exudes elegance and simplicity. The control plate is available with round or square buttons and in a wide range of high-quality finishes: from brushed stainless steel, black chrome, red gold and brass - all including easy-to-clean coating - to black matt, white matt and glass finishes in lava, white, sand grey and black.
The jury was impressed by the way Geberit manages to combine minimalist design with high-quality use of materials and perfection down to the smallest details. Technical innovation was also explicitly praised: the ultra-thin plate required a completely new mounting system, which is robust, intuitive and tool-free to install.
"With minimalist designs, it comes down to perfection in every detail," says designer Christoph Behling. "We worked intensively on refinement in finish and balance in form. The jury recognition underlines that we succeeded in this."
To make the slim design possible, Geberit developed an innovative mounting system just two millimetres thick that, thanks to glass fibre reinforcement, is surprisingly robust. This makes the Sigma40 not only thin and elegant, but also quick and easy to install - even on existing Geberit concealed cisterns.
"What the user sees is sleek design, what the installer experiences is thoughtful technology," Geberit said. "The Sigma40 control plate shows how, at Geberit, technology and aesthetics are inseparable."
Due to its ultra-thin, contemporary design and high-quality appearance, the Sigma40 control plate is ideally suited for residential and commercial projects with high design ambitions. A choice for those who value sophistication, quality and timeless design.
