From 1 April Robert van Heeswijk new Managing Director of Carlton Hotel Collection

From 1 April, Robert van Heeswijk will be the new Managing Director of Carlton Hotel Collection. He succeeds Hans van der Heijden, who will retire this spring after working with pleasure and passion at the Carlton Hotel Collection for more than 35 years. During his career, Van der Heijden has seen the Carlton Hotel Collection grow into a collection of eleven exceptional hotels in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK. Van Heeswijk continues his work and will lead the company into the future.

New era of hospitality

Robert van Heeswijk earned his spurs at the Efteling, where he served as Operations Manager and then Hospitality Manager. He has since worked at the Carlton Hotel Collection for ten years; first as General Manager at Carlton De Brug, which he transformed into HUP. For the past three years, he worked from the Central Support Office as Product & Project Development Manager. Van Heeswijk on his new position: "I am honoured to take over the role from Hans van der Heijden. I look forward to further growth of our beautiful hotel collection and will shape a new era of hospitality."

Pioneered new hotels

Hans van der Heijden, Managing Director of Carlton Hotel Collection, on his departure after more than 35 years of loyal service: "During my time at Carlton Hotel Collection, I had the opportunity to do an awful lot of great things, such as launching the Carlton Ambassador in The Hague and the Carlton George in Glasgow. As Director of Operations, I then helped create new Carlton hotels, including The Dominican in Brussels, HUP in Mierlo and Market Street in Edinburgh."

Proud and confident

As Managing Director, Van der Heijden steered the Carlton Hotel Collection well through the corona period. "We are now seeing very nice results again. I am very proud of that and very grateful to both our employees and our stakeholders. I confidently hand over my position to Robert van Heeswijk, who will lead the company with dignity and success into the future."
