Amsterdam, 23 January 2025 - Traditional hospitality and innovative technology. Small-scale luxury and personal attention. With the launch of Arq Hotels, the Netherlands' newest boutique hotel group is a fact. What started with the acquisition of the Paleis Hotel in The Hague in September, grew into a collection-of-two earlier this month with the affiliation of Kloosterhotel de Soete Moeder in Den Bosch. Thus Arq Hotels doubled in size in a short time - and it doesn't stop there. The group's focus is on growth, with a portfolio of twenty boutique hotels as ambitious goal. It is headed by Nicoline Montanus, who worked for Eden Hotels for many years.
The Paleis Hotel in The Hague is the very first Arq Hotel. This four-star boutique hotel has 24 rooms and is located in the middle of the historic Hofkwartier, near Paleis Noordeinde. The history of the monumental building can be traced back well into the 17th century. From secret doors and sealed passageways to the lively inspiration of writer Louis Couperus - if these walls could talk... The hotel is currently closed for a large-scale renovation, in mid-April it will reopen its doors for a new phase in its intriguing existence. Convenience and luxury go hand in hand at Arq Hotels, with digital room keys, ultra-comfortable beds and always personalised attention. Boutique Hospitality here stands for a cosy and homely feeling at the highest level.
Is there anything more restful than sleeping in a monastery? With the affiliation of Kloosterhotel de Soete Moeder, the newest Dutch hotel group has added a special location. This three-star hotel also has 24 rooms and is located in a unique spot in the heart of Den Bosch - an oasis of peace and yet right in the city centre. Combining innovative technological gadgets and heart-warming hospitality, it fits seamlessly into the Arq concept. The hotel is further characterised by its social mission. Inclusive entrepreneurship, fitting into the zeitgeist where people with a distance to the labour market are part of the operational management.
Nicoline Montanus, managing director of Arq Hotels, on the new hotel group: "We are making what you might call a flying start. In just over a year, our group consists of two boutique hotels, we have established a nice concept and we are talking to possible new acquisitions. The current Arq Hotels are both unique places where luxury and comfort are combined with automation and technology. With us, you get all the facilities you dream of: perfect beds, excellent service and a wonderful feeling of home. Everything you need, without having to ask for it. With Arq Hotels, we offer the hospitality of the future."
