New wind blows at Rosep Estate

New wind blows at Rosep Estate

Landgoed De Rosep in Oisterwijk has passed into new hands after almost 40 years. Hotel owners Ingrid and Henri Verhoeven recently handed over the baton of the well-known family business to Albert Kreeft, who worked there himself for many years. Together with David Reinders Folmer, Kreeft is founder and owner of Excite Hotels, a group of inspiring and contemporary boutique hotels in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Scheveningen. In 2024, De Rosep will have some 70 four-star hotel rooms, restaurant, brasserie, wellness centre and extensive conference accommodation. All permanent employees will remain in service, and the team will be further strengthened and expanded in the near future. To ensure continuity and operations, the new co-owner will manage the hotel himself with his partner Daniëlle Wassing. The internationally experienced hospitality couple has already moved to Oisterwijk with their family and will be given a thorough familiarisation period by the Verhoeven family.

Construction entrepreneur Henk Verhoeven buys the neglected estate in the 1980s to renovate and resell. During the renovation, however, the ambition to run the business himself arises, which it does in 1986. Quickly, the star of Landgoed De Rosep rises in the years that follow, with at some point even 2 SVH Master Chefs in the kitchen. Besides being a renowned party and conference hotel, the estate has also been a favourite with top international football clubs for years. Henri and Ingrid completely took over the business after their father's death in 2004, while also running a second hotel in Oisterwijk for many years. Last year, Mansion Hotel Bos & Ven was stylishly transformed into luxurious villa flats.

EXCITE HOTELS

Excite Hotels has been operating since 2018 and focuses on bed and breakfast in cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Scheveningen. From its service office in Koudekerk aan den Rijn, the group professionally manages and supports all hotels in the areas of HR, marketing, finance and revenue management. However, each location is managed individually to ensure personal hospitality. A bright future glows for Landgoed De Rosep under its new leadership. Besides necessary technical changes in the field of cash register and reservation systems and a new website, the renovation of the entrance and reception will hopefully also start this year. Some hotel rooms and common areas will also undergo an overhaul to meet current requirements. However, the typical Rosep look will in no way be violated. Kreeft: "We will continue to cherish the Burgundian atmosphere, as well as many beloved classics on the menu. Together with our brigades, we are looking forward to the coming years and will together add lustre to this wonderful family business."
